Blog Posts

Ryan's WordPress account includes two websites. His personal blog (simply and conveniently titled: Ryan Walaszek) showcases Ryan's professional aspirations as a marketer. On the other hand, Ryan's Recamovie puts emphasis on excellent movie recommendations through various topics of film conversation. This page provides one example post from each....

Among the posts to choose from, Ryan decided to showcase one that leads into his activation of his Facebook account. This is because it provides the best representation of Ryan as a blogger and as a person. It has everything: a learning experience, an accurate portrayal of Ryan's sarcastic personality, and good social media engagement. The learning experience comes form Ryan's understanding of how to properly write a Facebook post, while the other two qualities can be seen in the Twitter links to the right...

While Ryan has found more engagement in other film blog posts, he is most proud of his first Recamovie. Ryan reflects on his first publish: "I have never done anything like this before, usually people will describe a movie simply as 'good or bad'... but I wanted to dig deeper, I really wanted to see if a movie can be great but still not 're-watchable,' or what entices a second viewing... of all the posts I wrote, this really screamed the word 'different.'"

Twitter and Facebook also showcased Ryan's social media abilities very appropriately. In his Facebook post (right) Ryan clearly follows his instructions from the personal blog post seen above. The Twitter's (below) also did well with receiving some solid engagement. "For a first post, I'd say it was a great success," says Walaszek.
